Chris Evans Opens Up About Life as a Dad
Chris Evans has shared a heartfelt update on how fatherhood has transformed his outlook on life, revealing that his priorities are no longer the same.
Speaking during an appearance at Fan Expo Boston, the Avengers: Doomsday star admitted that welcoming his first child with wife Alba Baptista has changed the way he approaches his career.
According to Evans, leaving home for work now requires much more thought than it once did.
“You Need a Really Good Reason to Go to Work”
Reflecting on his new role as a father, the 45-year-old actor said having a daughter has made family his top priority.
He explained that every decision about taking on new projects now comes with one important question: whether it’s worth spending time away from his child.
Evans summed up the change by saying his priorities have shifted significantly since becoming a dad.
A New Chapter With Alba Baptista
Evans and his wife, actress Alba Baptista, welcomed their daughter, Alma Grace Baptista Evans, last year.
Sources close to the couple previously said they chose to spend their first days as parents away from the spotlight, enjoying precious family time in private.
Insiders also revealed that the Marvel star quickly embraced fatherhood and was overjoyed to become a girl dad, describing him as completely captivated by his daughter.
Family Comes Before Fame
Evans and Baptista first sparked romance rumors in 2022 before making their relationship official later that year.
The couple married in an intimate ceremony in Cape Cod in September 2023, surrounded by close friends and several of Evans’ Marvel co-stars.
Even before becoming a father, Evans had spoken openly about wanting a family one day. He previously said that, in the end, the greatest achievement in life isn’t professional success, but the relationships people build and the love they share with those closest to them.
