FLO Address Long-Standing Industry Rumors
British girl group FLO have spoken candidly about the criticism they’ve faced behind the scenes, responding to claims that they’re “difficult” to work with.
The trio—Stella Quaresma, Jorja Douglas and Renée Downer—said they have no intention of pretending to be perfect and would rather acknowledge the criticism than ignore it.
Appearing on The Zach Sang Show, the singers tackled the rumors directly, with Stella saying that accepting people’s opinions takes away their power.
“We’re Opinionated, Not Impossible”
When asked why they believe they’ve earned that reputation, the group gave a simple answer: they’re opinionated.
Jorja Douglas explained that standing up for themselves in an industry dominated by older executives hasn’t always been easy. According to her, expressing different ideas or challenging decisions can sometimes be viewed negatively, especially when coming from young women.
She suggested that confidence is often misunderstood, particularly when artists refuse to simply agree with everything they’re told.
Admitting They’ve Been Rude
While rejecting the idea that they’re generally disrespectful, the group admitted they haven’t always handled every situation perfectly.
Jorja acknowledged that they have been rude at times, describing the music industry as a high-pressure environment where emotions often run high. She added that, like anyone else, they’ve had moments they aren’t proud of, but stressed that those situations don’t define who they are.
Stella also argued that the entertainment industry can be an emotional place, making disagreements feel more personal than they really are.
